The Iris Award Nominations That Have Led To ALL THE FEELINGS
This week while I was in New York for an intense two-day client huddle, my phone and Facebook started blowing up. It wasn't until I finished up the first day of meetings and was back at my hotel room that I was able to fully absorb what was going on. I learned that I was nominated for the 2016 Iris Awards -- not just once, but twice, in the categories of Best Parenting Vlog (for my new lifestyle solutions series) and Best Parenting Podcast (for Edit Your Life).

2016 Intentions Check-In
Given that I’m a freelancer, one thing I’ve been trying to get better at is doing quarterly check-ins on my finances. And it occurred to me that it would be good to do something similar with my 2016 intentions given that it’s so easy to make resolutions or set intentions and then forget about them! Friday Find: cove
When I started my freelance career 10 years ago, my "office" was a desk in the middle of our dining room (#notoptimal). So when we moved, one of my key requirements for our new home was a dedicated office with a door. I'm blessed to have said office, but now one of my biggest challenges is that unless I have meetings, I lack both adult human contact and transition time to shift from work to family mode. Don’t get me wrong, in general, I love not having to commute, but some days, the lack of transition time is definitely a problem.

Announcement: Lifestyle Solutions Video Series!
As I mentioned last week in my ten 2016 intentions post, I’ve been wanting to start a video series for a long time. But I’ve totally been scared by it, which is kind of weird because I tend to be pretty fearless when it comes to trying new media things. I suspect that fear has been a combination of worrying about being perfect, looking ugly, attracting trolls, or -- worst of all -- making crappy content. But I’ve realized I can't let fear get in the way of creativity. I have to try!
