3 Fantastic Summer Camps To Check Out

February signals a lot of things — the blissful end to an interminable January, the groundhog’s verdict, and…the time for families to think about and lock in summer camp plans! We’re doing things differently this year and instead of producing a full summer camp guide, we are partnering with a select group of camps — here on the blog and via our social media and newsletter channels — to give you a more detailed look into some amazing ways your kids can learn, grow, and have fun this summer. We’re delighted to follow our first spotlight feature with three fantastic summer camps to check out!

If you have kids grades pre-K through grade 8 who are eager to get their theatre on, check out Kidstock! Creative Theater in Winchester. For families seeking a throw-back to tech-free, vintage summer camps fueled by outdoor exploration, check out the brand new New England Outdoor Camp — NEOC in Wellesley. And if you have kids who love music and theatre, Powers Music School in Belmont offers five different summer programs to get kids moving and making music together.

So awesome, right? Scroll through this feature for photos and additional details, and click through to each of the camps to learn more and register. Happy browsing and camp planning!

Kidstock! Creative Theater (Winchester)

Kidstock! Creative Theater’s 30th anniversary summer provides a variety of options for kids grades pre-K through Grade 8. Programs are divided by age with developmentally appropriate lesson plans combining drama, art, movement, and music to empower students to create their own original presentation. Our youngest students explore a new storybook each day that inspires the rest of our creative activities. Our older students workshop all aspects of a fully staged production. A new two-week musical program for Grade 4-8 rehearses to present Disney's Descendants. Flexible weeks offer individual day registration. Families can choose from three schedules of drop-off times, and afternoon extended day affords busy families additional child care as late as 6pm. Visit Kidstock! Creative Theater’s website for specific descriptions, example schedules of the day, and information on program themes and show titles.

New England Outdoor Camp — NEOC, for short, and pronounced nē-äk — is a new, premier day camp created by the LINX Companies, the parent company of LINX Camps. Based at the Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley — an expansive property that includes river access, trails, forested areas, gardens, and the opportunity for campfires — NEOC connects campers to nature with camp activities including canoeing, archery, hiking, orienteering, outdoor survival skills, gardening, arts and crafts, music, cooking, games, sports, and wellness. NEOC offers an inclusive camp culture and welcomes campers ages 3 to 15. Camp sessions have parents covered the whole summer; programs run June 13 to September 2, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm (with extended day options from 8am to 6pm). Bus service is also available! For more information visit www.campneoc.com, use the chat on the NEOC website, call or text 781-235-8765, or email info@campneoc.com.
