Best Locations for Family Photos in Massachusetts

We have arrived at what I consider perfect family photography season; the weather is perfection, the trees are popping, and it’s a long enough runway before holiday card processing so you’re not scrambling. (Minted is my go-to for holiday cards!) Also? You’re probably super tired of taking your own family selfies. So I thought it would be fun to ask the wonderful photographers in the Boston Mamas Mamampreneur Business Network where their favorite spots are for family photos. Check out these awesome location recommendations and you can see samples of their beautiful work here and on the photographers’ websites. I would definitely recommend hiring a pro because hello, they are pros and make everything come out awesome!

Your Home

Beth Ann Fricker (BAF Photography): “There are so many amazing places to have your family photos taken, but my favorite spot—and the one I find most meaningful—is at your own home either inside or outside. It is often overlooked because you might think it is not big enough or you didn't mow the grass but I find that everyone, especially little kids, are so comfortable being in familiar places and we can have fun with the sessions. The photographs you receive will feel extra special especially years later, and will be unique to your family.”

Charlestown Navy Yard (Charlestown)

Ana Viana (Lovely Pictures Studio): “The location I love the most is the Boston Skyline from Charlestown Navy Yard. I have done so many sessions there because most of my clients wants to stay in Boston (Public Garden, Boston Common, Beacon Hill, Back Bay) but I always encourage to try new places and they usually have no idea about the views from Charlestown.”
