Help Me Celebrate 9 Years By Helping a Local Charity!
Friends, today is this site's 9th birthday! When I started Boston Mamas 9 years ago, I had no business plan; I simply was fueled by a passion to create community via useful and interesting content + small business and local resource support. This simple passion (and my lack of long-term business planning - HA!) remains, and I am astutely aware that YOU are the inspiration for so much of what I do. There are 3,390 posts in the archives to prove it!
In past years I have celebrated the site's birthday with rad giveaways and I hope to be organized for the 10th birthday to assemble a seriously killer birthday giveaway series. But meanwhile, right now it feels very fitting that I use this opportunity to celebrate by paying it forward. Will you please help me?
Here's what I'd like to do. Simply leave a comment on this blog post (one comment per person, please!) below by Sunday, July 12, and each comment will count for $1 towards a donation I will make on behalf of the Boston Mamas community to a local charity that works to help families. You're welcome to recommend a charity in your comment if you like -- I will take all recommendations under consideration. The reason I'm not specifiying a charity right now is because I literally had this idea during my morning run and didn't want to rush to make a choice!

p.s. I haven't had a chance to run my mid-year numbers but at the moment I'm thinking I will cap this donation effort at $500 (500 comments). I want to be generous AND I need to be realistic about my role in supporting my family. I'll share an update on the total donation dollars and the benefitting charity!
