As many of you may know, I'm a huge proponent of self-care. Of the extremely doable variety. As in, 10 minutes a day is better than nothing! And one of my favorite forms of quick (yet still very sweaty) self-care is running. These days, the only form of exercise I can fit into my schedule is walking Violet in the jogger to day care (warm up) and running home (12 minutes) four times a week. It's perfect for me and I'm getting a little concerned about what I'll do when the snow hits.
Anyway, I've been meaning to share about a fun project I've been working on with my friends Marie (of the craftastic Make and Takes) and Heather (of the perfect-for-new-moms Rookie Moms). We're all about creating community and fun around running via Eat. Blog. Run. None of us are hard core in the marathon running sense (yet, anyway) and we welcome anyone who loves or is looking for encouragement/support to start running. And actually, you don't have to be a blogger to join us online -- we came up with this name as a team name when Marie coordinated a group of 12 bloggers to run a 200-mile relay.
So, I'd love for you to come on over and join our community, simply by reading and/or joining us on Facebook and Twitter. Also, if you're looking to get started with running, or outfit your running kit, we've got a great giveaway live now (open until midnight PST November 7), including a pair of New Balance sneakers (I just ran in these yesterday!), a LUNA bar gift pack (I just ate one of these before my morning run!), a Team Sparkle skirt (I wear these for races!), and a SPIbelt (I just started using one of these puppies!). Totally cool!
