Giveaway Goodness: Mayor's Holiday Special

BlueManGroup.jpgGiven my ever present desire to declutter (particularly around this time of year), I'm a huge fan of experiential gifts. And I've found that experiential gifts are particularly awesome for kids; they negate said clutter, offer an opportunity for togetherness, create lasting memories (Laurel's most vivid gift memories are shows she has attended), and can inspire new or fuel existing interests. Not surprisingly then, I'm super excited that the Mayor's Holiday Special is back for another season, and thanks to their generosity, I've got a great giveaway for you today!

If you're not familiar with the Mayor's Holiday Special, it's a program that runs during the holiday season and offers thousands of half-price tickets (powered by BosTix, which reinvests sales back into the local arts community) to local performances (as well as dining and parking deals). AWESOME.

And now here's where you come in! The kind folks at the Mayor's Holiday Special are offering a $100 gift certificate to one of you fantastic readers. Here's how to enter to win:

Always wanted to see How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Nutcracker, of course!

My kids have been clamoring to see the Nutcracker. We'll probably take them to one of the less expensive alternatives this year but winning this prize would enable us to take them to the Boston Ballet!

My husband and I are huge theater fans and would love to see a show. Since out twins were born last December, we never get a night out anymore. We would love to go see a show!!!

I love the holidays in the city! I would really like to check out the Urban Nutcracker - it has always caught my eye, but I have never gone.

I would definitely have to pick How the Grinch stole Christmas. My two boys love the movie.

The Nutcracker in Natick would be ideal. Family from overseas are visiting now, language barriers dissolve in music and arts, especially spectaculiar performances. Thank you.

I would love to see the new Nutcracker!

The Nutcracker! Easy choice, I saw it once as a child and will never forget it :)

I would pick How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my son and daughters would love it!

    holiday pops!

Definitely the Nutcracker. I would absolutely love to take my girls. It's one of my most favorite holiday memories as a child!

Would love to see blue man group!

I would love to take my daughter to see the Nutcracker by the Boston Ballet!

Oh ! the Boston Pops...you can get a table and go to the kids performance. They have tea sandwich and holiday fare and a sing along for all ages. Everyone gets into their finest holiday attire to listen to the wonderful Boston Pops. Symphony hall is a treat anytime of year but the Holiday Pops are very special at Symphony Hall. The Mayor started a wonderful thing with this program. It makes it affordable for many more people to afford the arts! I hope the Mayor is getting well and enjoy the holiday season!

How the grinch stole Christmas would be awesome!

I would see the nutcracker with my 9 yr. old daughter, or maybe see Memphis with my husband, or even go to Blue Man group...too hard to decide!

I would love to see The Grinch with my daughter!

What a great holiday gift this would be! I would love to take my 4 year old son to the Grinch! :-) Thanks again.

The *new Nutcracker* would be awesome, but so would the *Urban Nutcracker* - something my family and I have always wanted to see.

My son has long been a fan of the Arabian Nights so I am so excited to see that there is a local performance of this awesome show. We recently went to see The Mikado and Hoop Suite, buying all our tickets through Bostix and felt lucky to see such great shows at such a good price and get such great seating!

Um, Can I choose all of them?!? Ok, how about the Nutcracker for me, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas for the kiddos :)...And I have always wanted to check out the Urban Nutcracker, so that's on my list too!

Would love to see the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker!! It's so magical. I remember going when I was a kid & it was one of my favorite Christmas presents!
