Tickled by Tea

tea-collection.jpgI've known about Tea Collection for a while (I still regret that I never got around to purchasing from their Korea collection a while back), but it wasn't until recently that I had a chance to see their products. And while the clothes are really lovely out of the box, they move to the realm of tremendously awesome once placed on real little bodies. I recently had the opportunity to style some pieces from Tea's fall collection and was struck not only by the quality and design, but by the ability to create really cute coordinated (but not overly matchy match) sibling outfits (read: perfect for family photos or general everyday cuteness). Read on to check out the coordinated outfits I assembled, as well as to learn how to be one of three winners to receive a $100 Tea gift certificate!

+ + + + +

I first must say that I utterly adore Tea's use of vivid, rich colors. To date, Laurel has worn a lot of classic pink and purple, and while cute, seeing her (and Violet) in deeper hues is just so delicious. And the clothes are beautifully (and sturdily) constructed -- they'll definitely stand up to repeated wear both in the now and as hand me downs. Here are three coordinated looks I put together for the girls:

+ + + + +

1. Still Feels Like Summer Dresses

tea-ensemble1.JPG

I loved the look of these dresses together, even though they're not the same colorways. Laurel's Bird of Paradise dress dress is light, airy, and striking in pattern and color. This dress is cute for everyday wear but also is easily fancied up with costume jewelry, such as the multi-strand faux pearl necklace that was passed down to Laurel from her great-grandmother. For baby clothes, I much prefer comfy, stretchy jersey knits over stiff cottons, and Violet's Marimba Mini dress is the perfect weight and snuggliness -- both for rolling around on the floor and, well, absorbing baby slobber.

+ + + + +

2. Back to School Cool

tea-ensemble2.JPG

As I was laying out these looks, I kept saying to myself, "I wish I had this in grownup size!" In particular, I adore Laurel's comfy and stylish Skinny French Terry cargoes. They're like leggings in that they're pull-on with no zippers or buttons, but they're a more substantial weight -- perfect for fall. The cargoes look really cute paired with the vividness of the Mexican inspired secret garden top. This top looked really big out of the package but hung beautifully; the embroidery is so pretty and Laurel loved the girliness of the flutter sleeves. For contrast, we added an inexpensive necklace we found at a consignment store in Somerville. Violet is wearing the Hacienda Stripe dress. Like the Marimba Mini, the material is cozy and comfortable and I love that the indigo matches Laurel's pants while the pink pocket liners match Laurel's shirt. Also, this baby dress comes with bloomers. Cuteness.

+ + + + +

3. We Love Leggings

tea-ensemble3.JPG

For grownups or kids, leggings and a comfy top/dress are an easy, stylish, and comfortable go-to. Here Laurel is wearing the Courtyard Tile Dress (which again, looked really big out of the package but hung beautifully) and the Skinny Stretch Leggings in radish + a chunky colorful necklace we picked up for $5 from a street vendor in New York; both pieces added a nice color pop against the dress. Violet is wearing her own Gap leggings + this adorable Mistica parajito tee. I love the graphic and the ruffle details and the weight is soft and comfortable. I can't wait until it comes out of the wash (again)!

+ + + + +

4. Bonus Pick

tea-maxi-dress.JPG

There are many swoon-worthy items at Tea (including clothing for boys and women), but I wanted to shout out one of Laurel's favorites: the Jardin Azul Maxi Dress. She'll get a lot of wear out of it in the remaining weeks of summer and I suspect into fall as well, paired with a cardigan and leggings once the temperature drops.

+ + + + +

Aren't these clothes gorgeous? I'm in love and can't wait to shop when the girls grow a size (or maybe I'll just troll the sale section and stock up for the future)! Now, on to the the giveaway. The folks at Tea Collection have generously offered three lucky winners each a $100 Tea gift certificate. Awesome, no? Check out the rules below and enter to win!

thanks for a fun contest! :D

I have a little boy - and I looooove the Kimono Robe sweater in brown, and the jumping koi PJs. My son would look adorable in them. They really are to die for.

I love the "We Love Leggings" look the best - great photo!

Love all of the colors/patterns of the girls dresses but think that the Bird of Paradise dress is divine:)

I love the Day of the Dead t-shirt & thought it would be a big hit with my son, too.

I like the sibling set #3.
Also, love their Chapultepec boy polos

I LOVE tea collection. They wear so well and are great quality; perfect for hand-me-downs! My favorite is combo #1. Thanks for the contest - good luck ladies!

love little citizens hoodie in maroon for my active girl!

I love the Tea Collection! We are expecting a baby in December, and are looking for coordinating outfits (that aren't too matchy matchy) for our son and new daughter to wear for an informal "new" family photo. I would pick the Tori Shirred Neck Dress for my daughter and the Happy Hoodie (in cactus) with the Surplus Playwear Pants (in Cliff) for my son.

I like the "A is for Awesome Set" and think the sibling combo #2 looks great.

I so want the CHAPULTEPEC ROMPER for my boy to wear next summer!

I like the Marimba Mini Dress with the rich hues and practicality of pockets. Laurel looks great in the Bird of Paradise Dress & pearls! The Hummingbird pajamas look real nice too!

I love Tea clothes! My friend gave me new baby gifts from there-the onesies are the best-SO soft and such cute designs!

I have had more compliments on my daughters Flora del mar playdress than I can count. It also photographs beautifully -- the color is rich but not too bright.

I am a big fan of Tea Collection and they make cool boys clothes - beyond camouflage! In particular - my son loves their hoodie t-shirts. This season it's the Cinco senses hoodie T that we're looking at:http://www.teacollection.com/product/1F22008/boys-hoodies-cinco-senses-hoodie.html#ink

Thanks for the chance to win!

We'd love the NEW Polanco Chambray Dress. Tea is just the best!!!

I love "We Love Leggings" combination the best.
And, I would love a Happy Hoodie in Cactus for my 3.5 year old son.

WOW what beautiful clothes! I'm not very famuliar with the Tea Collection..thanks for showcasing them. My favorite sibling pair is #2, it reminds me so much of my 2 daughters who are 5 yrs and 4 months. The secret garden top in particular is amazing, I would love to dress my daughter in this when she enters Kindergarten in a few weeks!

I hardly ever buy things without my fashion conscious 8 soon to be third grader with me. Amazingly there is stuff here that I KNOW would be a hit.

LOVE Tea!!! Fabulous quality, great fabrics. I buy S's pajamas and dressy shirts here. On L and V, my fave combo is the bird of paradise / Marimba dresses. What a photogenic couple... ;-)

I love the hoodies, and they come in such great colors! I love Laurel's birds of paradise dress. So bold!

Love Tea Collection - it's a staple in our home! Love the #1 combo - I've been eyeing the youngest's dress for my own daughter.

Christine, the girls look SO ADORABLE. My fave combo is the "We Love Leggings" look, but they are all so cute.

I'm always looking for stylish clothes for boys - seems like once they're out of onesies, the options are so limited. I particularly like Tea's Chapultepec Polo, and the Little Citizens Hoodie. :)

I think the Androna dress is adorable!

I love Tea Collection - been salivating after the Courtyard Tile Dress.

I bought some dresses at Tea that have lasted me through 2 years - one year as dresses and the next as tops for leggings.

    very good quality.

Have been a long-time fan of Tea Collection -- I wish I could buy all their children's ware in adult sizes! -- but I've never purchased one of their sets -- this season I'd want the Ancho Androna 5-Piece Set for girls.

Of the styles on your girls, I love the gorgeous Birds of Paradise dress, but also like

i like the mariachi gift set for boys-- especially the bright red hoodie.

Ooooh, such yummy colors and fabrics! I love the idea of the mix-and-match sets--my fave was Ancho Androna 5-Piece Set. And out of your pairings, the Back to School one was my fave, I love the color coordination in the details!

The Mercado Strip Dress would look awesome on my 2.5 year old, however, the La Rambla Dress for Women...I would love that!

I was just having a conversation on Twitter last night about Fall clothes and how much I love Tea Collection.

High on my list for Becca is the Androna Layered Dress, with leggings of course. That girly girl of mine could live every day in a dress and leggings, especially once school starts. And I love how comfy and sturdy the Tea dresses are. All three of my kids wore Tea stuff for our family photo shoot in June! (http://www.lauracasephotography.com/blog/?p=115)

Fingers crossed that the random number generator likes me this time!

Love the Little Citizens Hoodie - as for the above pics the Birds of Paradise dress is adorable!

    http://www.teacollection.com/product/1F13218/girls-dresses-bird-of-paradise-dress.html#radish

My 3 and 5 year old little ladies would look adorable in matching Bird of Paradise dresses!

I've always loved tea collection but they are a little spendy for us. So a GC would be a special treat! The blue and green Marimba Mini Dress is my current favorite.

Love the boys hoodies -- perfect for any season.

I really like Amate Cañón 6-Piece Set. I also like the first sibling set you posted. :)

I have to say, I like the Androna Layered Dress. What a beautiful color.

I have a 3 year old boy and I love everything in the Mercado Mexicano collection.

As for your girls, I'm loving the "Back to school cool" look.

I love Tea Collections and think the A is for Awesome set is fantastic. It would my husband's job of dressing my daughter so much simpler!

What do you ladies think - Tea Collection or Matilda Jane? Love them both, but probably have to lean slightly to Matilda Jane. But, you really can't go wrong.

Love the Kimono Robe sweater! All of their stuff is just SO cute!

We have been fans of Tea for years! I am in love with the new sweater leggings. The pointelle leggings are also cool. My daughter is a real leggings and dresses kind of girl!

Those shorts for boys sure are cute! Here in Florida we have a couple months of shorts weather left.

I love the Tea Collection, the quality is great and very stylish

I would love to purchase leggings and the sweater that says, "Citizens of the world" for my daughter. Of your pics, I really liked your We love leggings photo. I wish I could get my daughter to wear a tunic like that!

The clothes are so cute! I love the birds of paradise dress and also love the cute containers for the lunch boxes. Thanks for the chance to win!!!

Tea Collection clothes are fabulous. I like the Cinco Senses blue striped dress with the yellow ochre hoodie underneath.

i'd want the Superstars 5-Piece Set

So cute, I've never heard of this but will start shopping soon!

I also enjoyed Tea's Korean collection especially the boys outfits. From their Mexican collection, I really like the ARTESANA FLORAL DRESS. It looks very comfortable and my daughter loves the color.

I love colorful stripes and would love to see my 2.5 year old son in the Cinco Senses hoody and my 1 month old daughter in the Cinco Senses romper.

Your "We Love Leggings" picture is adorable. Great sibling set.

I love the back to school look, and would love both outfits for my 2 girls. I'm really enjoying this peek into your girls wardrobe - it's like trying on clothes for my own (half asian, half caucasian) girls, 4 and 4 months.

The boys clothes are adorable and stylish. It is hard to find cute boys clothes sometimes.

I love the Ciudadela Smocked Dress for my little girl. We received some items from the Tea collection when she was a newborn, and I loved them! As for your pairings, I like the "leggings" combo!

I love the Diez Stripe Jacket for my little man.

Not sure my son and daughter would enjoy matching but with so many fantastic clothes I'm sure I can come up with something!

I love the Birds of Paradise dress!

Oh, I love Tea! I really like your first sibling combo, as I LOVE both of those dresses! They are my favorite from the current collection! Thanks for an awesome giveaway!

Love the first sib pic - little dresses above.

    Thank you!

Love Tea Collection - especially the wardrobe sets. Bought two different ones for my girls this past spring to get coordinated looks with sophisticated prints and without the matchy-matchy look. Among my favorites for fall: Amate Aves layered dress and Talvera Yoke dress. Love that Tea clothes are soft and comfy with great quality!

I would LOVE LOVE, LOVE one of the wardrobe sets, especially the Vida Talavera 5-Piece Set. How easy to get dressed for school!!!! IMO, I liked your second combo best. Maybe it's the way that your girls are snuggling and Laurel's kissing her little sister! Although, those summer dresses were gorgeous too! Thank you!

My son would like so adorable in the Happy Hoodie :-)

    Thanks!
