To be honest, as a kid, I always was more excited about back to school supplies than school itself, and something like the Lands’ End Cordura StudyHaul backpack probably would have sent me into blissful organizational overdrive. My favorite thing about going back to school is not only are my children going but so am I. I teach 1st grade and I absolutely love teaching. I always look forward to that first day of class as I love the way my students are so eager to learn as this is their very first day of full time class. The pay may not be the best but the rewards are priceless!

I'm a school bus driver, so I see it from a different perspective from most people. My favorite part is the kindergarten kids. I'm often the very first person they see on their journey to their new "life." I introduce myself, tell them the bus rules and how they're there for everyones safety, and most importantly, give them a friendly face to look forward to so that their ride to school and back is happy instead of scary.

My favorite thing about back to school,is the normalcy that comes with it. Our household runs a little bit better with structured activities. It gets a little chaotic during the summer months, the kids actually get a little bit bored by the end. Its great to see their excitement of meeting new friends, or regrouping with old ones, and being involved in their extra curricular activities.

My favorite thing was always organizing my new school supplies-I'm not as organized as I used to be now.

I love the organization. Everything has it's place, crayons are in perfect little rainbow lines, backpacks and luchboxes are tucked away in perfect order...such a sharp contrast to the following week when it looks like a tornado has ripped through the whole house!

My favorite thing about back to school is...
"Mom I'm bored..." and NOT having to hear it repeated over and over again by each kid. LOL!!!!
No, seriously, I love back to school time. I love getting their school supplies and nice and new and getting their backpacks (which we still need to get, hint, hint...LOL) ready for the first day. My husband also takes off work the first day of school each year to send the kids off to school with me. Then we spend the entire day - JUST US - doing something romantic like go for a stroll in the park or take a paddle boat ride on the lake.

Since I am a homeschooler of three, the best thing about the "back-to-school" season is that most public places (parks, stores, hiking trails) are a lot quieter now than during the summer...bliss!

Strangely, my favorite thing about Back to School as a kid was actually just getting back to School. I just wanted to get back to the books and some of the activities like Band.
Now, it's probably watching my kid get prepared. She really liked Pre-K and is now getting ready for K with all of the changes that involves. I'm kind of excited that she might have some playmates close-by.

My favorite things about back to school are the stability it gives to a child's life, the chance to meet new friends, and the start of a new year of learning. Also, since I'm a substitute teacher, my chance to meet new kids and help them learn.

My favorite thing about back to school season was actually shopping for school supplies too...when I was younger at least. As I got older, it wasn't as much fun and I merely liked the fact that I'd be seeing my friends a lot more often.

Every year while school supplies are cheap I buy a brand new box of crayons. It's my treat to me. I keep them by my bed and use them to doodle, or make notes or even sometimes write in my journal.

The best thing about school starting is the quiet time in the morning after the buses make their rounds. The time between pickup and lunch is the best part of the day to get things done or just have a quiet time for myself.

With two children still at home one boy 13 one girl 12 the favorite thing about back to school season is I can have a couple of hours of peace to myself. It always take two weeks after they are back in school to gain my sanity back after a long summer break.

I have a few favorite things about starting a new school year. I like the kids being excited about starting a new year. The excitement of getting ready with new supplies, clothes, meeting the teacher, seeing old friends. Of course, I love how the kids all have A's. It is always a challenge to keep them! I also love the freedom that comes with sending the kids off to school.

I love this time of year. Back to school means that Fall and the Holidays are coming soon! My two sons enjoy school and are very good students! They do they homework without prompting and my husband and I like to watch them excel! They are also active in extracurricular activities. Family time becomes even more precious. Thanks, Cindi

The start of the new school season means taking a break for about 6 hours a day...helping me to recoup from the night before with the kids and regular daily stresses making it for a more relaxing time with the family when we're together :)

My daughter isn't school-age quite yet so I don't get to revel in the peace of quiet at home when school starts. However, I do love going places during the day and not having a million other kids at everything that we do. Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite thing about the back to school season is getting the kids back into a daily routine. 2 of my 3 children are in school, my youngest is only 4 months old, and I love having them all around me in the summer, but by the time September rolls around I am ready to have them get back into a daily schedule that allows me the extra time to do the things for the family that I need to take care of. I also think it is great for the kids to continue developing both intellectually and socially and let's face it, school is the best place for that! I have a couple of things that I look forward to: buying cool new clothes for the kids and then a quiet house. There are times, however, that I miss having them the kids home. Really!

My FAVORITE thing about back-to-school time is getting back on a dependable schedule again! Plus, my son takes the bus to school which means I don't have to take him (right now we are making 4 trips for football practice, ugh). Yippee!!

I am a native Floridian and what I loved about back to school was it signaled the end of summer and hot weather. Back to School meant an end to summer and Christmas was soon to follow with it's cooler weather.

My favorite thing about back-to-school season this year is all the sales. I'm not buying school clothes for my kids yet, but I've been able to buy a lot of household items, and even some groceries, at good prices.

This will sound selfish, but my favorite thing about back to school season is that when the kids all go back to school, there is such peach and quiet in my neighborhood! I can relax outside and read a good book and it's so quiet!

I remember getting a new backpack and new crayons. Especiallly when I got the 64 crayola crayons with the sharpener. I was styling then!

With six kids, I am truly ready for them to go back to school. No more "What can we do", "I'm bored", "Can you take me to my friend's house". A backpack would be great fun to have, what a great reward I could make that for someone who does an extra special things.

My daughter isn't quite old enough for school - yet. But I think that I'll enjoy having a more set routine when the time comes. I like routines - they make my life easier!
