Postpartum Depression Call to Action

Today is a day of activism to help garner support for The MOTHERS Act for postpartum depression. This call to action is sponsored by BlogHer, Postpartum Support International, and Postpartum Progress. To join the cause, blog about this initiative today. Or if you aren’t a blogger, call or email your senator and simply ask them to co-sponsor The MOTHERS Act bill number S. 1375, which will provide funding for postpartum depression research, education, screening, and treatment. Thanks everyone!

Thank you so much for posting today and supporting Blog Day for the MOTHERS Act. Let's hope people keep writing and calling into tomorrow, because I hear the phone lines were pretty busy today. Women have so much power and we sometimes forget to use it. You have helped so many women with PPD, and I am forever grateful!

Thanks for taking the time to spread the word. The good news is that postpartum depression is treatable, and in some cases may even be prevented. The MOTHERS Act will help us to educate women, their families, and their caregivers so that women suffering from PPD can get the help they need and deserve.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your support of the MOTHERS Act. Too often postpartum depression is a problem that goes unnoticed, and most women with PPD never receive any type of treatment. PPD is a treatable illness, and it is essential that we continue to educate ourselves and others about this important issue.
