Every mama’s birth story is unique, sometimes totally off plan (I traded a two page natural childbirth plan for an emergency C-section), and yet utterly connected to one another. And all through September, moms around the world can connect via BOLD (Birth On Labor Day), a global grassroots movement that uses the arts to promote education, dialogue, and action around maternity care issues. Locally, on September 28 & 29, Karen Brody’s play, Birth, will be performed at the Cambridge Family YMCA Theatre, with an open conversation directly to follow. Tickets start at $25 ($12.50 for students); proceeds will benefit maternity care organizations.
