Together in Motion

tim.jpg

Just in time for another chilly weekend…a local reader wrote in with high praise for Together in Motion in Arlington. This drop in play space offers Motion & More play sessions geared towards children ages 0-6 (every day of the week!). Admission rates are $7 for kids 1 year and up and $5 for kids under 1 year (infants under 6 months are admitted free when tagging along with a sibling). Group and individual multi-pass discounts also are available.

Together in Motion also soon will offer group exercise classes for women, including parallel sessions where kids can play while mom is working out. Check out their current schedule; birthday party services also are available on weekends.

Editor's Note

Now that we have the potty situation under control, we just ventured out to try Together in Motion and it is GREAT. In addition to the big nerf/romper room, the front lounge area has several separate areas with a train track table, book area, large activity table with puzzles, etc... The lounge area and two large (clean!) bathrooms have a light and airy IKEA feel. If they started selling coffee for parents they would be a force to be reckoned with!

There are adult fitness classes offer at this space now. I teach a Monday night Nia class at 7pm. Nia is a mind-body workout that combines dance, martial arts and yoga. There is an adult Vinyasa yoga class at 8pm on Monday. And a Pilates class on Wed at 7pm. It's a warm, non-competive, non-threatening, non-gym community space to get a workout with other holistic-minded folks from the area. Classes are $13 drop-in, or buy a 5 or 10 class card for $60/$110.
